Start A Healthier Holiday Tradition.
Things are different in a beautiful way this year: There’s a huge opportunity to finish 2020 focusing on self-care and self-healing. Don’t waste it.
What we choose to do with our time and energy is deeply personal, and yet mainstream traditions regularly get the best of us. It’s no secret that the holidays are often horrible for our health and happiness, but this year there’s a silver lining.
Without the pressure of partaking in the normal holiday hustle, there’s room to reflect on what our mind and body really need in order to process an entire year—especially one of particular chaos. Do I need to overindulge or take intoxicants to feel like I’m living a full life? Is it possible that I’m still connected to the people and things I care about, even when I’m sitting in solitude? Am I brave enough to break a cycle that isn’t working for me and start fresh?
Your future traditions are up to you. Choose wisely.
Here’s to taking care of yourself this holiday season, and every holiday season hereafter.
(And here’s to my brother, Nick, being cool about me using this photo without asking. Love you in that onesie, dude.)
Metta,
Drewsome.
